Does the design with waffles improve acoustics, by any chance?
These seem like a potential match for 3D printing?

Eglinton West Station is one of my faves. Erickson asked, why not put it at a 45-degree angle?

It's amazing, such a giant cantilever so that it would not need supports where the expressway was supposed to be, I should add that to my post!
