How sad. Even Climate Hero Lloyd "waffles" on his commitment to minimize his greenhouse gas emissions. His rationalization, "dream trip", blends in with the cloud of rationalizations driving aviation greenhouse gas emissions - lifetime-planned retirement trips, weddings, funerals, anniversaries, grandparents, parents, children, grandchildren, family reunions, class reunions, business meetings, professional conferences, climate government-summits, financial government-summits, graduations, college-break home visits… Unnecessary flights, real and damaging greenhouse gas emissions. Lloyd, show inspiring climate leadership - very publicly cancel the dream trip. Lloyd, demonstrate the change of thinking needed to combat global warming - needed to combat the increasingly unprecedented human suffering attributable to global warming.

I do see you as a Climate Hero. Humankind is indebted to you. Looking forward to more of your good work. Living with the spotlight on both one's accomplishments and failings - it's life in Hero Territory.

I'm afraid that your amusing structural test made me think about the tragic recent events in Turkey in which so many concrete buildings "pancaked." From what I could tell, they were constructed with "flat slabs," lacking both beams or any sort of waffle structure. The weak point appeared to be the juncture between the columns and the slabs.

I didn't think of that, but you are correct. My apologies, no more pancakes.
